I advise on the problems I have actually solved.
Most technology advice comes from people who have never had to operate the thing they are advising on. I have. The systems I work on for clients are the same ones I run in my own companies, which means the advice comes with the consequences already attached.
Advisory and fractional CTO
Ongoing input at founder or board level on technical direction: architecture, build against buy, what to own and what to rent, where the next bottleneck is, and who to hire before it arrives. Useful when there is a real technology decision to make and nobody in the room has made it before.
Payments and fintech integration
Gateway integrations, card authentication, fraud controls, chargebacks, reconciliation, settlement and merchant systems. This is the deepest specialism I have, built running live payment infrastructure across more than one company, including the parts that only show up once real money is moving.
Technical due diligence and audits
An independent read on somebody else's stack before an investment, an acquisition or a decision to rebuild. What is actually there, what it will cost to maintain, what the team has been quiet about, and which risks are real against which are noise.
Build and integrate
Hands-on delivery when the work needs building rather than advising on: APIs, integrations, infrastructure, automation and the connective systems between them. Smaller engagements I take directly. Anything larger runs through Sitepact Group.
Operator, not observer.
I've integrated the gateways, chased the failed settlements, argued with the carriers, run the servers and been the person on the other end of the incident at two in the morning. That is a different kind of knowledge than reading about it, and it shows up in the advice.
It also means I will tell you when the answer is that you do not need the thing you asked me about. I'm not incentivised to make the engagement bigger than the problem.
The work I do for clients is the work I do for myself. That is the entire pitch.
- You are making a technical decision with commercial consequences.
- Payments, telecoms or infrastructure is in the critical path.
- You need an independent read before committing capital.
- The last three opinions you got contradicted each other.
Larger engagements run through Sitepact Group.
Advisory, diligence and specialist payments work I take personally. When something needs a delivery team, ongoing support or a commercial partnership rather than one person's time, it belongs with Sitepact Group.
That distinction is deliberate. You get me for the thinking, and a company with capacity behind it for the building, rather than one person quietly becoming a bottleneck halfway through.
If you're weighing something up, the first conversation costs nothing.
Tell me what you're working on and what's making it hard. If I am not the right person, I'll say so and point you at who is.
